Our History and Symbols
When I completed my CBT training, I was deeply inspired by the values and effectiveness of the method, as well as the community surrounding it. During my final year of training, my colleague and I came together and founded INNERSURFING. The foundation of our work was best captured by a quote from Jon Kabat-Zinn, as I was also leading mindfulness training at the time: "You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf them."
Our center grew, and over time, my love for CBT expanded to other evidence-based methods. While I couldn't master them all, the privilege of working alongside specialists from different backgrounds and seeking the best approach for each client through intervision meetings pushed us toward growth. That’s how we built a team of EFT, EMDR, and Schema Therapy specialists.
In 2023, we decided to change our name because I felt — and shared with my team — that it was time.

Now, our name is in;re, and it carries deep meaning. It reflects our credo: "Stay in reality." Reject illusions, and face the truth. It acknowledges our commitment to feminist values, represented in our colors — purple and green, the colors of the first suffragist movement. The ";" symbol is an international sign of solidarity with those facing mental health challenges and a symbol of suicide prevention.

About Me
I’ve had the privilege of working with English-speaking clients in Portugal since 2022, and I continue to do so. Currently, a quarter of my practice consists of clients based in Portugal — expats not only from across Europe, but also from other continents. This experience has shown me how many expats and younger people here are searching for support that truly speaks to their individuality — especially when it comes to exploring neurodivergence or navigating emotional challenges in a new country. One of my clients is in her 70s — expats come in all ages!
What I often see in the Portuguese therapy market is a strong presence of traditional psychoanalysis, primarily rooted in Freudian theory. While this approach can be meaningful for some, I believe it’s time to move forward and embrace the most up-to-date, evidence-based methods — approaches that genuinely improve people’s lives.
That’s why I’m happy to invite you to explore the services offered by our center. I already work with clients living in Lisbon and near Porto, and I deeply understand their needs and the challenges they face. I also lead a team of English-speaking therapists, and I sincerely hope to be of service to this country that welcomed me at the beginning of the war. I feel a profound connection to Portugal — I know I will always love it and return here. I fell in love with the ocean, the beauty of azulejos, and the bold, rebellious spirit of Portuguese women. I also hope to build strong, lasting professional relationships here.
I am a dreamer — but one who believes dreams can be realized with the right tools in hand. My journey in therapy began with a failure. My first training did not give me the results I wanted with clients, and I almost left therapy behind. But then, I entered CBT training, where I successfully treated my first case of panic disorder, followed by depression and then OCD. For the first time, I felt like I had found my place. The challenges never stopped—and still haven’t—but I found the right tools and the right values: trust in science, an empirical approach, professional honesty with clients, collaboration with colleagues to find what truly works. These values became the foundation of our center.
Over time, both I and the center evolved. I became fascinated with EFT couples therapy, realizing how essential attachment theory is—not only in treating disorders but also in understanding case conceptualization. I am always learning. My current areas of professional growth include: adult ADHD and neurodivergence, philosophy of psychology, narcissism, and support for survivors of narcissistic abuse. I am also a feminist and a passionate fan of technology, which I firmly believe will revolutionize psychotherapy beyond recognition in the near future.
I love teamwork, and I truly believe that together, we can achieve great things. And I want nothing less than to influence the mental health of Ukrainian society—through healthy relationships and strong individuals. We know how to achieve this, and I hope our center can help you realize your dreams.
